Welcome!
At Play on Words, I believe that learning and growth happen best through play. Speech therapy doesn’t have to feel like work — it can be fun, engaging, and filled with laughter! Through games, activities, and creative interactions, I help children build confidence in their communication while keeping the joy of play at the heart of every session.
Because when therapy feels like play, progress happens naturally.

Hi, I'm Donna!
I’m Donna Toups Guidry, M.C.D., L/SLP, CCC/SLP — a licensed speech-language pathologist and Certified Autism Specialist with over 32 years of experience. My work focuses on gestalt language processing, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), child-led play-based therapy, sensory strategies, and executive functioning development. Throughout my career, I’ve remained passionate about honoring neurodiversity and creating supportive, individualized interventions that help every child shine.
At Play on Words, I embrace each child’s unique way of learning and growing. My neurodiversity-affirming, play-based approach builds confidence and communication skills while supporting executive functioning and social-emotional
development. I specialize in meeting children right where they are and empowering them to take the lead — because when children lead, they flourish.
By creating a nurturing space that values self-advocacy and individual strengths, I help kids find their voice, build confidence, and grow in ways that matter most to them.
